Blackfoot Confederacy Tribal Council Seeking NIHB Navigator
The Blackfoot Confederacy Tribal Council (BCTC) is currently seeking applications for the position of Non-Insured Health Benefits (NIHB) Navigator. This full-time, three-year contract position will support eligible members of Siksika Nation, Kainai (Blood Tribe), and Piikani Nation in accessing essential health services through the NIHB Program.
Based in office located in Kainai-Blood Tribe, the NIHB Navigator will regularly travel to Siksika Nation and Piikani Nation to provide direct support and services within Blackfoot communities. Reporting to the BCTC Health Director, the successful candidate will serve as the primary point of contact for clients seeking assistance with medical transportation, dental care, pharmacy services, vision care, mental health counselling, and medical supplies and equipment.
The role involves responding to inquiries by phone, email, and in person, while also providing case management support, advocacy for denied claims and appeals, and coordination with the NIHB regional office, health providers, and provincial and territorial health services. The position plays an important role in helping community members navigate the healthcare system while ensuring services are delivered in a manner that respects Blackfoot cultural protocols and values.
